A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Biography

I’m an orphan, a poet, and a photographer with an eye for the magic around me and an enduring sense of amazement at this place where I find myself.

Hailing from the mountain jungle by way of Cali, Colombia, I came to urban appalachia at a young age and grew up in an alien world where my best friends and protectors were the rivers and the trees, the birds and the flowers, and the whispers in the middle of the night.

ABOUT MY PROCESS

My Photography

My world is a sensuous one, and my photography documents these moments in their endless motion. Most of my work centers around themes of place, belonging, time travel, and liminal spaces.

I utilize a decolonial lens and turn heavily to my indigenous African and indigenous american ancestors for inspiration.

Other Work

In addition to my love for art and earth, I have a deep passion for my people and devote a lot to caring for my community and holding community events.

I'm especially focused on Black Women and Moms, Queerness, and Black/Native solidarity. I love collaborative projects and shared wanderings, so reach out if you think we can pull something off together!
